One who has never experienced suffering is considered to be unable to understand the suffering of others. Critics may say to Mamata Banerjee that the political life of ‘Mamata Didi’ is not without obstacles. She particularly remembers the December 1992 incident when she brought then-Chief Minister Jyoti Basu Felani Basak, a physically challenged girl who had reportedly been raped by CPI-M workers. On the other hand, she was apprehended by the police. Adorers of ‘Didi’ assert unequivocally that the activist began her political career as a formidable voice defending women’s identities. Beyond this accolade, however, what is the current state of affairs in West Bengal?

It is never safe to be anyplace in Bengal; riots might happen at any time

Indeed, under Mamata’s leadership, not a year has gone by on Durga Utsav, Ram Navami, or any other Hindu holiday without the Islamic mob pelting stones without violence. Terrorists are frequently apprehended in West Bengal from various locations. This place was also used by the terrorists from the Bengaluru blast to hide. Indeed, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from West Bengal has taken into custody the principal suspect in the Rameshwaram Cafe explosion in Bengaluru. They were both arrested in Kolkata. Abdul Matin Taha orchestrated the explosion, while Shajib Hussain planted the IED in the cafe.

Under Mamata Didi’s leadership, incidents such as Sandeshkhali have persisted for years, as her political existence is closely associated with women’s identity. Who knows how many issues will come out if every crevice and cranny is examined? However, Mamata Didi’s devotion is so great that she never stops defending criminals in order to maintain her position of authority. What does Mamata’s silence about crimes against women—which the police use to carry out atrocities against victims rather than oppressors—should respond as a woman? In other words, “Mamata Banerjee” has evolved to the point where politics does not matter the most to her. She will do whatever it takes to hold onto her power.

To her, it makes no difference how many Sandeshkhalis come forth in West Bengal! At all costs, he should maintain his dominance.

The fact that the nation has courts, the central government, numerous national agencies, and commissions that listen to victims’ stories and then advise state governments on how to protect them is a good thing and they are able to complete the task. The state’s police administration and appeasement would not have been possible without these, so just think of how much Mamata Banerjee would have abused her authority!

An increasing number of startling pieces of evidence are being presented to the court during the Sandeshkhali case hearing. At their level, numerous commissions are attempting to ascertain the real facts. From what the court has learned thus far, the court is deeply troubled by the idea that ‘Mamata’, a woman, was immune to the suffering experienced by women in West Bengal. Why, in spite of everything, does she still refuse to acknowledge the issues and harsh reality that her state’s women face?

One can only imagine how bad things will get. The CBI was ordered by the Calcutta High Court to look into the Sandeshkhali matter under its supervision. Shahjahan Shaikh, the former head of the TMC, is accused of extortion, land grabbing, and sexually harassing Sandeshkhali women. To the degree that Mamata’s Bengal Police captures Shahjahan Sheikh, Shibu Hazra, and Uttam Sardar and places them in jail upon the court’s intervention and directive, they are protected, along with others of a similar nature. How many human adversaries are they shielding thugs from?
According to the Calcutta High Court’s judgment, a CBI probe into allegations of sexual harassment, rape, and other offenses in Sandeshkhali would take place under the High Court’s supervision. The West Bengal government would give the CBI agents and the Sandeshkhali victims proper facilities and security.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has been ordered by the High Court to provide a report on the unauthorized conversion of agricultural property for the purpose of fish farming. The state government was also given a 15-day deadline to install CCTV cameras in the Sandeshkhali region. LEDs have to be installed according to specifications. The costs of all this will be borne by the government of Bengal. It is important to note that Mamata Banerjee’s government in West Bengal will not be able to halt the CBI inquiry following the court judgment. Additionally, the CBI is currently looking into the land grab and attack on ED cases.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has revealed through its report what the leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) were doing in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. The Commission’s investigation at the scene found that the victims had been tortured in various ways. People here have faced attacks, threats, sexual exploitation, land grabbing and forced unpaid labour. With the connivance of government officials, the common people here were also deprived of the right to vote. There was discrimination in government schemes. NHRC has presented these figures in great detail.

It must be acknowledged that, in the years since she came to power, “Mamata Banerjee,” the woman selected by the people of West Bengal as a replacement for the cruel administration, has been determined to carry out her political ambitions at whatever price. West Bengal continues to burn today as it did yesterday. Somewhere the terrorists are contentedly enjoying themselves and someplace the issues are going blank. There is a public threat going on somewhere from the ministers and MLAs of the Mamata government, telling the people that they must vote for TMC in the polls only, or else be ready to pay the price!

On the other hand, there is ‘Mamata Banerjee’ who is herself engaged in appeasement politics. She is saying that CAA, NRC and UCC will not be implemented in West Bengal during her tenure, whereas CAA is a law that grants citizenship, UCC gives equal protection of law to all citizens in the country, while NRC identifies illegal citizens.

Overall they feel that through Muslim appeasement they will be successful in getting maximum people to the Parliament. Through this appeasement, she will continue to hold on to power in Bengal. Nobody is even able to scuff her.
