WhatsApp Resumes After Being Halted for More Than an Hour

New Delhi, 25th Oct. WhatsApp experienced a global outage from the UK to India, with users unable to send or receive text and video messages for more than an hour.

After an hour of unexplained downtime, some users’ access to services was restored.

Several users confirmed the restoration of service.

WhatsApp’s services were disrupted in many parts of India and around the world on Tuesday afternoon, with thousands of users unable to send or receive messages on the Meta-owned platform.

Following the snag, WhatsApp stated that it is working to restore services.

“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a Meta company spokesperson said in a statement.

#Whatsappdown was trending on Twitter, and many users took to the platform to share amusing memes about the situation.

Users reported nearly 29,000 reports of Whatsapp outages to Downdetector, indicating a significant increase in complaints.

According to Downdetector’s heatmap, the disruption impacted WhatsApp users in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
