Indians are significantly changing the US, according to US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti’s statement on Friday.

“The old joke was you could not become a CEO in the US if you are an Indian, now the joke is you cannot become a CEO in America if you are not Indian, whether it is Google, Microsoft or Starbucks, people have come and made a big difference,” stated the US Ambassador.

According to Garcetti, over 10% of CEOs of Fortune 500 businesses are Indian immigrants who came to the country to pursue their education.

According to Garcetti, “The successes have happened, more than 1 in 10 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies now are Indian immigrants who studied in the US.”

Garcetti previously stated that the US and India are placing people at the center of the technological revolution for the benefit of society.

He stressed that the relationship between the two countries is multiplicative, or exponential, rather than additive, or arithmetic.
“Technology that instead of harming us, protects us,” he stated.

According to research conducted over the past two years by economists Wendy Edelberg and Tara Watson of the Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution, the number of new immigrants has increased the labor force supply in the US economy, allowing it to create employment without going into overdrive and rising inflation.
