New Delhi, 9th Sept. A replica of Konark Wheel from the Sun temple in Puri of Orissa served as the backdrop of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welcome handshake with G20 world leaders as they arrived at the G20 summit venue ‘Bharat Mandapam’, in New Delhi on Saturday.

The Konark Wheel was built during the reign of King Narasimhadeva-I in the 13th century. The wheel with 24 spokes, which has been incorporated into the Tricolour, represents India’s ancient wisdom, great civilisation, and architectural skill.

Its circular motion represents time, the ‘Kaalchakra,’ as well as progress and continuous change.

It is a striking emblem of the democratic wheel that shows the tenacity of democratic principles and societal dedication to progress.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Bharat Mandapam this morning, ahead of the two-day summit of world leaders. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were among those accompanying him.
