In a crucial action regarding the alleged sex scandal involving Prajwal Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara announced on Monday that Prajwal Revanna, the accused in the case, will be called back to India by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Addressing the media, Minister Parameshwara outlined the progress of the investigation, stating that the SIT probe would be completed soon, with a report expected within 10 to 15 days. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified timeframe to ensure timely and effective investigation outcomes.

The Home Minister assured that action would be taken against all accused individuals mentioned in the victims’ complaints, highlighting the formation of an SIT led by senior IPS officer B.K. Singh, with two women Superintendents of Police also part of the team.

Parameshwara emphasized the state government’s commitment to non-interference in the probe, allowing the investigative agency to conduct its proceedings independently. He revealed that the main accused, Prajwal Revanna, who had reportedly traveled abroad, would be summoned back to India by the SIT for further inquiry.

The investigation would also extend to JD(S) MLA H.D. Revanna, against whom a separate complaint of sexual harassment has been lodged.

The Home Minister assured that once the SIT submits its report, appropriate action would be taken against the accused individuals.

Additionally, the SIT would probe the possibility of further evidence, including additional pen drives containing alleged sex videos.

In response to the situation, the state government stands ready to provide security to complainants and victims if necessary.

Meanwhile, amidst the ongoing investigation, the mother-in-law of one of the victims has spoken out, alleging coercion in lodging the complaint and suggesting ulterior motives behind the accusations.

The SIT has intensified its efforts, successfully locating and recording statements from five victims, including government officials and political leaders, underscoring the gravity of the situation and the urgency of the investigation.
