Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, on Thursday spearheaded a series of initiatives aimed at empowering India’s youth by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 15 prominent organizations, industry giants, and leading academic institutions.

These partnerships, facilitated through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), signify a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of India’s workforce.

The event, attended by dignitaries including Secretary, MSDE, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari; Chairperson, NCVET, Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi; Director General (Training), DGT, Smt. Trishaljit Sethi; and CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, witnessed the announcement of collaborations with renowned entities such as Flipkart, Teamlease, Infosys, IIT Guwahati & LogicKnots, TimesPro, BCG, Google, UpGrad, Unstop, Microsoft, M3M Foundation, Reliance Foundation, Yes Foundation, UPS, and Digivarsity.

In his address, Minister Pradhan emphasized that these partnerships would propel the Skill India mission forward, fostering a more capable, productive, and efficient workforce poised to embrace global opportunities. He underscored the importance of skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling, asserting that India’s workforce, equipped with technology, scale, and sustainability, will meet not only domestic but also global demand.

The Minister highlighted various digital initiatives within the skilling ecosystem, emphasizing accessibility, flexibility, and inclusivity. He stressed the significance of social participation in strengthening the skills ecosystem and acknowledged the win-win proposition presented by emerging technologies.

During the event, industry representatives engaged in discussions with Minister Pradhan and Secretary Tiwari, sharing best practices, exchanging insights, and devising innovative strategies to enhance India’s youth’s capabilities for the evolving job market.

Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, these collaborations focus on preparing the youth for the future of work. They aim to make the skilling ecosystem more accessible, innovative, and flexible, resonating with the goals articulated in the G20 framework.

These partnerships will empower students across industries like IT, CSR, and technology, enabling them to develop broader skills aligned with industry needs. Previous collaborations with organizations such as IBM, Bajaj Finserv, Meta, and Coca-Cola have already bolstered the fundamentals of India’s youth.

Through on-the-job training and industry exposure, MSDE and NSDC are equipping students with practical knowledge and enriching experiences, fostering youth-led development and stimulating employment prospects.
