Defence Minister Rajnath Singh exudes confidence in the BJP’s electoral prospects in Uttar Pradesh, brushing off concerns about low voter turnout and addressing speculation surrounding Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi’s potential candidacies.

In an interview with NDTV, Singh, also the BJP candidate from Lucknow, staunchly defended the party’s position, attributing their strength to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unparalleled popularity and India’s elevated global standing under his leadership.

Asserting the BJP’s dominance, Singh boldly predicts a clean sweep, declaring, “The BJP will win all 80 seats in UP.”

Responding to the buzz surrounding Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi’s potential contesting in UP, Singh adopts a confident stance, stating, “What’s the delay then? Anyone can contest. We are ready for the fight.”

Singh attributes the low voter turnout to lack of enthusiasm among opposition supporters, dismissing analyses linking it to disillusionment or anti-incumbency sentiments.

Singh also criticizes the opposition for alleging probe agency bias and targeting during the campaign, challenging them to seek legal recourse if they believe they are wronged.

Amidst the political fervor, Singh gears up for his own electoral battle, seeking a third consecutive term from Lucknow, with the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha polls slated for May 20th.
