Guwahati, 30th April.
Union Minister Amit Shah has taken a firm stance on the alleged sex scandal involving former prime minister HD Deve Gowda’s grandson and NDA candidate Prajwal Revanna, accusing the Congress government in Telangana of inaction.

In a press briefing, Shah reiterated BJP’s support for women’s rights, emphasizing their solidarity with “matrushakti” (mothers or women). He questioned the lack of action by the Congress-led state government in addressing the issue, asserting that law and order matters fall under their jurisdiction.

Shah called for a thorough investigation into the matter and highlighted the seriousness of the allegations. He urged Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to seek answers from her party’s leadership in Telangana regarding the delay in action.

The Union Minister criticized Congress for their response to the scandal, pointing out Priyanka Gandhi’s earlier criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s handling of the situation.

Meanwhile, Prajwal Revanna, a sitting MP from Karnataka’s Hassan constituency, has denied the allegations, labeling the videos as “doctored.” The scandal emerged shortly after his constituency went to polls, prompting him to depart for Germany pending investigation.

Authorities in Karnataka have launched a probe, with a case of sexual harassment and stalking filed against Prajwal. The Karnataka government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the matter and has indicated plans to summon Prajwal back to India for questioning.

The JD(S), led by Deve Gowda, has announced its intention to suspend Prajwal over the scandal, as confirmed by his uncle and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, pending an official announcement.
