Hyderabad: Muslim Students Brutally Assault Himank Bansal for ‘Blasphemy’, Force Him to Chant Allah-Hu-Akbar

Hyderabad, 15th Nov. Student Himank Bansal was forced to chant Allah-hu-Akbar by Islamists who beat him up. The incident at Hyderabad ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE). The case came to light after the video went viral on social media. The footage that was shared extensively on social media on November 12 shows a group of students beating up and threatening Himank inside a hostel room.

Himank has filed a complaint with the police detailing the incident and the circumstances surrounding the attack.

“In his complaint, Bansal mentioned that one of his friends from 1st year BA-LLB course, Dipasha Sharma, called him a paedophile for being friends with a girl 3 and a half years younger than him. When Bansal tried to defend himself by saying he didn’t want any sexual relations with her and cited references from Islamic scriptures to explain how he is not wrong, the girl shared his messages with everyone else in college”, reports OpIndia.

The complaint highlights 15-20 guys barging into his hostel room and beating him up accusing him of hurting religious sentiments. The assaulters threatened him and his family members while forcing him to recite the Islamic chant. Himank was further beaten up after he refused to oblige the Islamists when they asked him to remove his trousers. Himank named many people in his complaint with respect to the assault.

Video and photo evidence has been submitted along with the complaint. Cyberabad police tweeted confirming the registering of a complaint in the matter. The accused have been booked under sections 307, 342, 450, 323, 506, R/W 149, IPC, and Sec 4(I),(II), and (III) of the Prohibition of Ragging Act of 2011 by the Shankarpally Police.

The police said further investigation into the matter has been initiated. The institute too has reportedly started action against the assaulters, and surprisingly against the victim Himank Bansal too.
