Bharat Rashtra Samiti Plans to Hold ‘Dalit Conclave’ in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 7th Oct. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on Thursday that his Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) would hold a “Dalit conclave” in Hyderabad soon.

Rao stated this during a meeting with Tamil Nadu-based VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan and other leaders.

According to an official release, “the Chief Minister stated that a Dalit conclave will be held soon in Hyderabad under the banner of BRS with Dalit brothers from all over the country.”

Rao also stated that many schemes for the welfare of Dalits are being implemented in Telangana and that such programs must be implemented throughout the country.

Thirumavalavan praised Rao’s government for implementing various schemes to benefit Dalits, according to the statement.

Seeking to broaden its electoral footprint beyond Telangana, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) renamed itself Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Wednesday, with Chief Minister Rao eyeing a national role ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The VCK leader was present when the TRS general body passed a resolution renaming the party BRS.

Rao, also known as KCR, announced on Wednesday that he will travel throughout the country following the rebranding of his party as BRS, with activity beginning in neighboring Maharashtra.
