Secretary DARPG V.Srinivas to hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances will send a four-person delegation led by Secretary Shri. V. Srinivas to Bangladesh on April 28–30, 2024, for bilateral talks on the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Public Administration in Bangladesh and the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) in India for the years 2024–2029. The mid-career capacity building programs in field administration for Bangladesh Civil Servants will be the main emphasis of the tour, which is being conducted at the invitation of the Ministry of Public Administration in Bangladesh.

Since 2014, the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration and the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), India, have worked together to provide capacity building programs for Bangladeshi civil servants. Since 2014, the National Center for Good Governance has hosted 2775 visits from Bangladeshi civil servants as part of the bilateral engagement, which has resulted in 71 capacity building programs. The MOU between the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and the Bangladesh Ministry of Public Administration, under which these training programs are being conducted, is set to expire in2025. The government of Bangladesh has emphasized the value of these programs and expressed interest in renewing it.

The Hon. Minister of Public Administration, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, the Director General of the Civil Services Administration Academy, the Director General of the Public Administration Training Center, the Director General of the Governance Innovation Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration’s Career Planning and Training Wing will all have bilateral meetings with Secretary DARPG V. Srinivas during his three-day visit. The participants in the Law & Administration Courses and the Faculty of Bangladesh Civil Services Administration Academy will hear from Secretary DARPG V. Srinivas on the topic of “Institutionalization of SMART Governance to Enhance Public Service Delivery.” The Indian delegation will visit the Ashrayan Project in the Narayanganj district and engage in conversation with NCGG program alumni.
