Nearer the Church – away from the God, old proverb hold true with CM Manohar Lal whose ancestral village Baniyani (Rohtak) is suffering from threat of various diseases due to fly ash spread by nearby Bhali Co-operative Sugar Mills. Ironically CM Manohar Lal has made surprise inspection of Sugar Mill yesterday.-Is Pollution Control authorities listening ?
A lot of hazardous waste is generated by Sugar Mill Bhali (Rohtak) in air. causing untold miseries related to health to residents of nearby about a dozen villages including Baniyani, village of CM Manohar Lal. Due to this Irritation in eyes, breathing asthma liver,kidney and skin problems have increased manifold in nearby Madhodhi, Baniyani, Dhob and Other villages. Moreover this waste is also lying on crops for which food cycle of humans and animals is also affecting. If this pollution running in this way continued than there will be a blasting position of medical emergency in future
Mohinder Singh a resident of Bhali village told “Gustakhi Maaf Haryana” that Mill is proving havoc for the residents of Bhali and nearby villages and is posing serious threat of various diseases adding that the authorities should take urgent steps to check it.
It s interesting to mention here that a world class Institute ,Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak , Police Training college Sunaria, Rohtak Dist jail and a Veterinary college, is also situated nearby this Mill. All Students and Staff of above institutions are also suffering due to this dangerous issue as it is very difficult to stay in nearby areas due to the pollution crated by Sugar Mill.Haryana Pollution Control board officials who are ready to screw the commmoners are also silent on this serious issue directly related to lives and health of thousdands of villagers.
