Assam Government Raises DA by 4%

Guwahati, 23rd Oct. As a festival gift, the Assam government announced an additional 4% dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and all India service officers on Sunday.

The increase will take effect on July 1, and the additional amount will be paid with the October salary, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.

It will raise the DA for state government employees to 35%.

“Happy to announce 4 per cent additional Dearness Allowance for State Govt employees/All India Service Officers w.e.f. 1st July, 2022, payable with this month’s salary. Hope this will add to the festive fervour. Also extending my good wishes for an auspicious and happy Deepawali!,” Sarma said on twitter.

In August of last year, the dearness allowance for state government employees and the dearness relief for pensioners were both increased by 11%.

In March of this year, the government increased the DA by 3%.
