Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Rawat, who has been in Delhi for the last two days, returned to Dehradun after meeting the Central leadership and discussed the unprecedented situation unfolding in the state over the state leadership.
In the last two days, Chief Minister Tirath Rawat has met BJP national president JP Nadda and several other top leaders after which he has returned to Uttarakhand. The chief minister Tirath Rawat will meet the governor Uttarakhand on Friday and the situation on his resignation will clear subsequently.
The Chief Minister Tirath Rawat left Delhi for Dehradun at 4 pm after meeting the top leadership. Though CM Tirath termed his visit as a routine but his body language was telling a different tale. Chief Minister Tirath Rawat is said to have sought an appointment with the Governor at 12:00 am tomorrow after which he will be tendering his resignation, said sources.
CM Tirath Rawat was sworn in as CM Uttarakhand on 10th March after replacing Trivendra Rawat and he worked as CM for around 111 days. The rumours were rife on the declaration of the next CM. It is being said that Satpal Maharaj was also siummoned to New Delhi by party central leadership which has given rise to Mahraj being elevated at the post of CM. it is not clear if he will accept the offer, but chances are that there is a consensus emerging on his name in the party. Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, state BJP president Madan Kaushik, MLA Dhan Singh Rawat may also be named as per speculations so far.
This will be the first time in the history of Uttarakhand that two Chief Ministers will be replaced within 3 months. Uttarakhand to get its 11th CHIEF Minister in next few days.
The political analysts are livid at this development and said that the national party of BJP stature has failed to assess the situation and should have been aware of constitutional crisis it would pose before naming Tirath Rawat as the chief minister. Apart from naming the new Chief minister the other option is of the Presidential rule and if imposed it is likely to put a dent on the already sagging image of the BJP. The clouds of uncertainty surrounding the whole situation will be removed only after the official announcement.
