Noted social activist and Advocate passes away after testing Covid-19 positive in Dehradun

Dehradun,13th May. Noted Uttarakhand social activist and advocate Virendra Bhandari passed away this morning at the age of 74 after on Thursday after his Covid-19 report came positive, three days ago.
He breathed his last in the morning at the Adhoiwala residence on Raipur Road. He has left behind a wife and two children. He was cremated at Raipur crematorium under Covid-19 guidelines. Virendra Bhandari was also an active member of the Communist party of India and the party workers bid him a final farewell by covering his mortal remains with the party flag.
Virendra Bhandari was at the forefront of a labour movement. He used to fight for the rights of the workers as well and contest their case in Labour Court that too free of cost. He was also suffering from cancer for the last three years.
Virendra Bhandari started politics from his student life. He was the up Pradhan of Raipur Panchayat. As an advocate, he stood for the workers. And was one of the founder members of the CITU, a labour organisation. State Secretary Rajendra Singh Negi laid the party flag on behalf of the workers.
