Mizoram CM Discusses State Development with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh

 During his visit to the national capital, Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhawma, held discussions with Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Space, and Atomic Energy, Dr. Jitendra Singh, in New Delhi on Sunday.

The meeting encompassed a wide array of State-related issues, with a focus on the placement of civil servants and officers in Mizoram.
Dr. Jitendra Singh reiterated the Indian government’s commitment to prioritizing the development of the North Eastern Region, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s keen interest in ensuring equitable progress across all eight states in the region.

He highlighted the Prime Minister’s extensive engagement with the North East, surpassing the combined visits of all his predecessors. Despite Mizoram’s modest size, Prime Minister Modi has been actively visiting the state and launching various development projects, Dr. Singh noted.

Reflecting on the Modi government’s initiatives in Mizoram, Dr. Jitendra Singh mentioned the establishment of a specialized “Citrus Fruit Park” in collaboration with Israel, aimed at bolstering horticulture, revenue, and employment opportunities in the region.

In response to Mr. Lalduhawma’s request regarding civil servant placements, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who also oversees the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), advised the Chief Minister to formalize the request through official channels.

He assured that all possible and appropriate measures would be taken to address the matter effectively.

Lalduhawma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his interest and support towards Mizoram’s development.

He recalled his meeting with the Prime Minister, during which Prime Minister Modi not only provided encouragement but also encouraged ongoing communication to keep him updated about the state’s progress.
