Raghunandan Kamath, the visionary behind Naturals Ice Cream, has passed away at the age of 75, as confirmed by his company in an online statement. He succumbed to a brief illness on Friday night, leaving behind a legacy of culinary innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

“Our thoughts on the sad demise of our patron and founder of Naturals Ice Cream, Late (Shri) Raghunandan Kamath. Indeed a very sad and unfortunate day for us,” expressed the company in their tribute to Kamath.

Kamath’s journey to success began in his early years, where he assisted his father in selling mangoes in Karnataka’s Mangaluru. It was during this time that he honed his skills in fruit selection, preservation, and the art of creating natural delicacies.

At the age of 14, Kamath embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, forsaking formal education to join his brother’s eatery. Driven by a passion for crafting handcrafted ice cream using real fruit pulp, he ventured into the realm of frozen desserts.

In 1984, Kamath made a pivotal move to Mumbai, where he established the first Naturals Ice Cream parlour in the suburbs of Juhu scheme. With a modest team of six staff members and a repertoire of 12 flavors, he laid the foundation for what would become a culinary empire.

Over the years, Naturals Ice Cream witnessed exponential growth under Kamath’s stewardship. By 1994, the brand had expanded to encompass five additional outlets, catering to a burgeoning demand for their delectable offerings. Presently, Naturals boasts over 165 outlets across 15 cities, a testament to Kamath’s entrepreneurial acumen and commitment to quality.

Driven by his mother’s culinary wisdom, Kamath pioneered innovative production techniques and machinery to ensure the consistency and authenticity of Naturals Ice Cream. His dedication to craftsmanship and devotion to natural ingredients earned the brand a loyal following and a revered status in the culinary landscape
