CDS Gen Anil Chauhan to Bolster Defense Ties with France in Official Visit

 Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has embarked on an official visit to France, aiming to deepen the robust defense relations between the two nations, which have flourished in recent years.

During his visit, General Anil Chauhan is slated to engage with senior civil and military leaders of France, including his counterpart, French CDS (CEMA) General Thierry Burkhard, as well as officials from the National Institute for Higher Defence Studies (IHEDN) and the Director General Armament.

Scheduled activities include visits to key military commands such as the French Space Command and the Land Forces Command. Additionally, General Chauhan will address student officers at the prestigious Ecole Militaire (School of Military), sharing insights and perspectives on contemporary defense strategies.

In a nod to the collaborative spirit between the two nations, General Chauhan will also meet with representatives from prominent defense industries, including Safran Group, Naval Group, and Dassault Aviation, fostering avenues for technological exchange and partnership.

Honoring the legacy of Indian soldiers who fought valiantly during the First World War, General Chauhan will pay homage at the Neuve-Chappelle Memorial and the Indian Memorial at Villers-Guislain, laying a wreath in their memory.
