Border Forces Recover 2 China-Made Drones in Punjab

Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police recovered two drones from different locations in the border area of Amritsar on Sunday, officials reported.

On April 21, 2024, based on information from BSF intelligence about drones in two different locations in the border area of Amritsar district, joint search operations were conducted by BSF troops with Punjab Police in the suspected areas, according to the Border Security Force.

The recovered drones were identified as China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.

The search operations resulted in the retrieval of 2 drones, one at around 12:15 pm and the other at 2:00 pm. These recoveries occurred in farming fields near village Hardo Rattan and village Daoke in Amritsar District, it was added.

The statement also mentioned that reliable information and coordinated efforts of BSF and Punjab Police successfully thwarted the attempts of illicit drone handlers from across the border.

Earlier on April 20, the BSF recovered a drone carrying three packets of suspected heroin from the border area of Ferozepur.

On April 20, the BSF intelligence wing received information about a drone along with a consignment in the border area of Ferozepur district. Acting quickly, BSF troops conducted an extensive search operation in the suspected area.

According to X BSF Punjab Frontier, at about 5:20 pm, the search led to the successful recovery of one drone along with 3 packets of suspected heroin weighing around 2.710 kg. The packets were stored in a blue-colored bag. Additionally, a small torch and a green-colored illuminating ball were found attached to the drone. The recovery took place in a farming field near Jangir Singh ki Dhani village in Ferozepur District.
