Army Commanders’ Conference 2024: Strategic Brainstorming on Security Situation and Operational Readiness

New Delhi, 27th March. The Army Commanders’ Conference, the first for the year 2024, is set to commence in a hybrid mode, blending virtual and physical participation. Scheduled to kick off on March 28, 2024, in virtual mode, the conference will transition to physical meetings in New Delhi on April 1st and 2nd, 2024.
Rajnath Singh, the Raksha Mantri, will address and engage with senior military leadership during the conference.
Chaired by the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Manoj Pande, the conference serves as a critical platform for the apex leadership of the Indian Army to deliberate on conceptual issues, review the overall security situation, and chart key priorities for future policy decisions.
The conference agenda includes:
1. Virtual Mode Discussions (March 28, 2024): Army Commanders from various Command Headquarters will engage in discussions on critical agendas impacting the field army and veterans’ welfare. Distinguished Subject Matter Experts will also address the conference on the evolving geopolitical landscape and its implications for national security.
2. Physical Mode Sessions (April 1, 2024): The Army’s top leadership will participate in intensive brainstorming sessions aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability, and investing in training and development programs to ensure readiness for future challenges. Discussions will also focus on welfare measures for service personnel and their families, including financial security schemes.
3. Keynote Address (April 2, 2024): Rajnath Singh, the Raksha Mantri, will deliver a keynote address. The conference will also feature addresses by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral R Hari Kumar, and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari. Senior officials from the Ministry of Defence will also attend.
The conference, with its comprehensive scope, aims to ensure the Indian Army remains progressive, forward-looking, adaptive, and well-prepared to address evolving security challenges effectively. It underscores the commitment of India’s military leadership to safeguard national interests and enhance operational capabilities in the dynamic geopolitical landscape.
