New Delhi, 15th May. Officials of the Defence Research and Development Organization have informed that the first batch of 10,000 doses of the Corona drug 2-DG will be available in the market next week. This drug cures Corona patients quickly and reduces their dependency on oxygen.
The 2-DG (2-deoxy-D-glucose) drug has been approved at a time when India is going through a second wave of coronavirus pandemic and the country’s health infrastructure is under tremendous pressure. This medicine comes in a packet in the form of powder.
The Ministry of Defense had said that due to the second wave of Covid-19, a large number of patients need oxygen and hospitalization. This medicine is expected to save precious lives because it works on infected cells. It also reduces the duration of hospitalization of Covid-19 patients.
