2-DG Medicine for Corona Launched Today

New Delhi, 17th May.  The 2-DG drug of Corona developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was launched today. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched the first batch of indigenous medicine of Corona at the DRDO headquarters on Monday i.e. at 10:30 am today.

The name of this medicine is 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG). This DRDO drug amid the second wave of corona is expected to give relief. The 2-DG drug comes in a packet in the form of 2-DG powder and is to be dissolved in water and consumed.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh handed over the Anti-COVID drug 2DG to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. Dr Harsh Vardhan handed over the Anti-COVID drug 2DG to Delhi AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria.
