West Bengal Government Announces Full Lockdown from 16th to 30th May

Kolkata, 15th May. The Mamata Government has announced a complete lockdown from 16th to 30th May considering the increasing corona infection cases in West Bengal. During the 15-day lockdown in Bengal, metro, bus services and other services will be completely closed except for essential services. School-colleges and all other educational institutions will remain closed during this period.

Alapan Bandopadhyay, the Chief Secretary in the Mamta government, has issued the orders regarding the complete lockdown in West Bengal. The order states, “there will be a lockdown in Bengal from May 16 to May 30. Only essential services will be operational. Private offices, school-colleges, metro and bus services will be closed. Fruit-vegetable and ration shops will also be open from 7 am to 10 am only. People will be prohibited to go out from 9 PM in the night to 5 AM in the morning.
