New Delhi, 7th Feb. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday urged corporate and industry leaders to extend generous support to educational institutions across the country, particularly those focusing on girls’ education.
Speaking at the Centenary Celebrations of Indraprastha College for Women, Vice-President Dhankhar emphasized the importance of channeling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds into educational institutions and expressed his willingness to engage with industry stakeholders on this matter.
Addressing the students, Vice-President Dhankhar underscored their pivotal role as stakeholders in democracy and encouraged them to aspire for greatness. He highlighted the existing conducive environment for students to harness their talents and fulfill their potential, urging them to think ambitiously and shape their own destinies.
Asserting the transformative power of education, Vice-President Dhankhar described it as the key to achieving societal equality. He emphasized the revolutionary impact of girls’ education, stating that it represents a significant epochal shift and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of India.
Referring to India’s burgeoning global stature and economic prowess, Vice-President Dhankhar expressed optimism about the nation’s trajectory, urging students to embrace economic nationalism and advocate for locally sourced products and initiatives.
Encouraging students to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, Vice-President Dhankhar emphasized the importance of innovation and resilience. He lauded recent government initiatives aimed at empowering women, such as the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, highlighting the transformative role of girls in driving India’s growth story.
The event, attended by dignitaries including Prof. Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, and Alok B Shriram, Chairperson of the Governing Body of the College, provided a platform for dialogue on the critical role of education in shaping India’s future.
