VHP Leader Fatally Shot Inside Shop in Punjab’s Nangal

 In a shocking incident, Vikas Bagga, a prominent leader of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Nangal, Punjab, was shot dead by two unidentified assailants on motorcycles inside his shop. The tragic incident occurred near the Rupnagar railway station last evening.

Bagga, serving as the president of the VHP’s Nangal unit, fell victim to the assailants’ gunfire, who swiftly fled the scene after the attack, according to police reports.

Authorities, including Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh, have initiated investigations, scouring through CCTV footage in the vicinity to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

The incident has sparked outrage among VHP supporters and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, prompting a protest on the Una-Chandigarh highway, where demands for swift justice echoed.

Sunil Jakhar, the Punjab BJP chief, condemned the incident, blaming the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government for the deteriorating law and order situation. He labeled the murder as a “targeted killing” and criticized the government’s perceived inaction, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and their collaborators.

Punjab’s Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, who also represents the area as a local MLA, expressed sorrow over the incident, asserting that those responsible for the heinous act will face the full force of the law.

“Whoever is guilty and the mastermind of this incident will not be spared. They will face consequences,” stated Bains, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
