Patna, 24th May.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday labeled poll strategist Prashant Kishor as a “BJP agent.” He claimed that the BJP, struggling in the elections, has enlisted Kishor after several rounds of voting to influence the narrative. The former deputy chief minister of Bihar alleged that Kishor’s presence is part of the BJP’s strategic moves.

Prashant Kishor, a significant political figure in Bihar with his own party, Jan Suraaj, has managed campaigns for various parties and was once the second-in-command in Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United).

“Even my uncle (Nitish Kumar) said that he made Prashant Kishor the national vice president (of JDU) at the behest of Amit Shah. Neither Amit Shah nor Prashant Kishor has denied the claim. He has been with the BJP since the beginning. Whichever party he joins will be ruined,” said Tejashwi Yadav. The relationship between Nitish Kumar and Prashant Kishor ended bitterly in 2020, with Kumar asserting that he inducted Kishor into the party at the insistence of Home Minister Amit Shah.

Tejashwi, the younger son of former chief minister Lalu Yadav and the RJD’s heir apparent, further alleged that Kishor employs salaried district presidents, a practice uncommon even in the BJP.

“Don’t know where he gets the money from. He keeps working with different people every year. He takes your data and gives another. He isn’t just a BJP agent, but a BJP mind. He follows their ideology. The BJP is funding him as part of their strategy,” claimed Tejashwi Yadav.

These allegations followed the circulation of a fake screenshot on social media, claiming the BJP appointed Kishor as their national spokesperson. In response, Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party denounced the fake news. “Look at the irony! Congress, Rahul Gandhi, you all talk about fake news and claim to be victims. Now see yourself how the head of Communications of Congress Party, Jairam Ramesh, apparently a senior leader, is personally circulating a fake document,” the party said in an online post. Notably, the Congress and Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD are political allies.
