Darjeeling, 16th May. The Department of Ex-servicemen Welfare launched the ‘Samadhan Campaign’, an outreach initiative aimed at addressing the concerns of veterans, at Bengdubi Army Camp in Darjeeling, West Bengal. Dr. Niten Chandra, Secretary of Ex-servicemen Welfare, engaged with veterans during the campaign, reaffirming the government’s dedication to enhancing welfare measures for them.
Dr. Niten Chandra emphasized the importance of gathering feedback and insights from veterans to better understand the challenges they face while availing various welfare schemes. He directed agencies under the department to establish proactive communication channels to address veterans’ issues effectively, highlighting the government’s steadfast support for the veteran community.
The ‘Samadhan Campaign’ serves as a platform to recognize the sacrifices made by ex-servicemen and their families. By actively engaging with veterans and addressing their grievances, the campaign aims to create an environment conducive to their well-being and societal contribution.
During the campaign, Maj Gen SBK Singh, Director General of Resettlement, shed light on the resettlement programs available for ex-servicemen and encouraged them to explore entrepreneurship opportunities.
The event witnessed a significant turnout of veterans from Darjeeling, as well as adjoining districts of West Bengal and Bihar. Their concerns regarding SPARSH pension, healthcare, and other issues were promptly addressed.
