Sad Demise of Kerala Congress (B) Chairman Balakrishna Pillai

New Delhi, 3rd May. Kerala Congress (B) President and former Minister of State R Balkrishna Pillai passed away. He breathed his last in a private hospital in Kottarakara this morning. He was ill for the last several days. Balakrishna Pillai’s son KB Ganesh Kumar informed about the news of his death.

Pillai was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1960 from the Pathanapuram seat at the age of 25. He left the Congress in 1964 and formed the Kerala Congress along with senior leader KM George. Pillai was the founding general secretary of the Kerala Congress. He was the President of the Kerala Congress (B) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Nair Service Society (NSS). He started his political journey with the Congress party in 1960.
