Punjab Government Increased Restrictions Amid Growing Cases of Corona

Chandigarh, 3rd May. The Punjab government has increased restrictions in Punjab amid increasing cases of Corona. New restrictions will be implemented in the state till May 15. All non-essential goods stores will remain closed during this period. In order to get entry in Punjab, it has been made necessary to show the Corona Negative Report or Immunization Certificate of not more than two weeks ago. All these restrictions will come into effect from Sunday. Attendance at all government offices will be 50 percent. Only two people will be able to sit in a four wheeler. Only one person can travel on a two wheeler. The gathering of more than 10 persons at weddings and funerals has been banned.

A record 7041 new corona cases were found in Punjab on Saturday. 138 infected people lost their lives in 18 districts. The condition of 114 patients admitted to hospitals remains critical. So far 9160 patients have died due to corona in the state. According to the health department in Punjab, samples of 7281978 people have been taken, of which 377990 people have reported positive. Till date 310601 people have recovered. There are currently 58229 active patients.
