PM Modi Cancels the G-7 Summit Visit in UK Due to Corona Crisis

New Delhi, 12th May. Considering the current state of Corona virus in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not attend the G-7 summit to be held in the UK in the month of June. PM Modi was specially invited by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the G-7 Summit to be held in Cornwell from 11-13 June this year. The government informed about the cancellation of this visit of PM Modi on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs said, “The Prime Minister of the UK appreciates the special invitation to PM Modi for G-7 by Boris Johnson.” Due to the current situation in Corona, it has been decided that PM Modi will not attend the G-7 meeting. ”

US President Joe Biden is going to attend the G-7 Summit to be held in June this year. In addition, countries such as the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan are participating in it. This is going to be the first in-person summit in two years. It is believed that the leaders of the G-7 who attend the meeting will also discuss the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the global economy. The Prime Minister of the UK invited India as a guest. Also, invitations have been sent to Australia and South Korea.
