Pithoragarh district administration sets up pediatric covid centre to deal with possibility of third Covid-19 pandemic wave.

Pithoragarh,13th May. With the cases of Covid-19 virus infection rising, the district administration has set up a 100 bed pediatric Covid centre at a nursing Hostel in Pithoragarh, as part of the preparation for the third wave of the that could hit the children as presumed by the health experts.
Several children below the age of 18 years and newborns have tested positive for Covid-19 in Maharashtra’s Akola, Amravati districts as well as other parts of India that is grappling with the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic with a record surge in daily cases and deaths due to the virus.
In order to deal with the situation, the district administration has begun the preparation to create a separate pediatric Covid center in the nursing hostel.
“We have begun the preparation at recently constructed Nursing training center building for the third phase of Covid 19, pandemic and have set up 100 beds with essential equipment in it. “said HC Pant, chief medical officer Pithoragarh.
According to CMO, the expected third phase is to hit children most, the pediatric covid center has been created keeping the children in mind said the health official.
“We appeal to the citizen of the district, not to panic as the district is ready to deal with the third wave”, said the CMO Pithoragarh.
