New Delhi, 21 st July. Opposition is livid at the response by the government over the number of deaths that occurred during the second COVID wave in the country.
Responding to the question about the number of deaths of Covid 19 patients due to lack of oxygen in many parts of the country during the second wave, the Modi government at the Centre has said in the Rajya Sabha that no death has been reported by the states, due to lack of oxygen. The response was made in the Rajya Sabha to a question by Congress MP KC Venugopal directed towards the Health Ministry.
The centre’s response has created a stir in the country’s politics. opposition has found another issue to attack the central government and has called its response insensitive and a lie.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra clearing the air on the issue said that no state has submitted details of the due to lack of oxygen. If the States do not send any data about the death, what information will be given? He counter questioned the opposition.
Patra said that the Opposition is playing politics on this issue. Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal remarks have exposed heir double standard on the issue said Patra.
Rahul Gandhi is spreading confusion on this issue. Sambit Patra also lashed out at Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut. Patra said Sanjay Raut is misleading people by resorting to lies.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Wednesday said that several Covid patients have died due to lack of oxygen across the country including Delhi. He said the Union Government is completely wrong to say that no one has died due to oxygen crisis. The Delhi Health Minister questioned why the hospitals were going to the High Court on the issue of lack of oxygen if there were no deaths due it.
On the other hand, in a scathing attack on the Central Government for its statement that there was no death due to lack of oxygen during the second wave of the Covid epidemic, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday alleged that the deaths were due to increased oxygen exports by the government in the epidemic year and it did not provide tankers for transporting oxygen.
Sanjay Raut said, ‘I am speechless at this response. What will happen to families who have lost their near and corner due to lack of oxygen after hearing this statement? He said, “A case should be registered against the government. They are lying. Mansukh Mandaviya, who handles the health ministry, tweeted that the data was prepared based on reports received from states and Union Territories. He had also said in the Rajya Sabha that states have been asked to register all cases and deaths.
Rahul Gandhi also hit out at the Narendra Modi government in a tweet on the issue. He tweeted that there was no shortage of oxygen alone. There was a great shortage of sensitivity and truth which persists, even today.
