Kaimur, 26th Feb. A devastating accident on Sunday evening in Bihar’s Kaimur district claimed the lives of at least nine people, including two women, after a collision between a truck, a jeep, and a motorcycle on GT Road near Devkali village in the Mohania police station area.
Mohania DSP Dilip Kumar informed reporters that the accident occurred when a jeep, carrying eight passengers, collided with a motorcycle while traveling in the same direction. Initial reports suggest that the driver lost control of the jeep, leading to the tragic collision. Both vehicles then veered into the opposite lane, where they were struck by a speeding truck, causing the fatalities of all nine people, including the motorcyclist. The truck driver fled the scene after the collision.
Authorities have seized the truck, and an investigation into the incident is currently underway. The identities of the victims have yet to be confirmed.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that no other individuals sustained injuries in the accident.
The Bihar Chief Minister’s Office issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister directed senior officials of the district administration to provide necessary medical assistance to the injured.
Senior officials from the district administration reached the scene to oversee the situation and coordinate relief efforts.
