Modi Government Rectified the Shortcomings Left by Nehru’s Mistake in Parliament: Anurag Thakur

Union Information and Broadcasting and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday intervened during the discussion in the Lok Sabha on the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation and Reorganization Amendment Bill and targeted the opposition fiercely. He said that the mistakes made by Nehru regarding Jammu and Kashmir were rectified by the Modi government in the Parliament of India.
Thakur said that it was said that what happened by removing Article 370-35A, I can say on the floor of the House that these people could not do for 70 years even by removing Article 370-35A and when the time of Covid Even at that time, if someone conducted DDC elections in Jammu and Kashmir, it was the commitment of Narendra Modi ji’s government and successful elections were held. If we talk about the representatives of Panchayati Raj, not only the elected Honorable Prime Minister himself met them and also ensured that development takes place in every village of Kashmir.

He said that not only this, it was said here that this family or that family has made a huge contribution, I do not want to go into that. I do not want to belittle anyone but forgot the name of Maharaja Hari Singh who had signed the merger. Will he have no contribution in it? Is it Sardar Patel who has laid the foundation of today’s strong India by uniting 553 princely states in India, then Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has laid it. If the work of rectifying the shortcomings that remained due to the mistakes of Nehru ji was done here in the Parliament of the country on 5th August and 6th August, then the Government of India under the chairmanship of Narendra Modi ji also did the work of rectifying those mistakes in the Parliament.
Addressing the opposition, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that you are right, we all feel as sad on the martyrdom of any soldier or policeman as you do, but I am more saddened by the fact that in 75 years it has been more than 60 years. As long as you were in power, 45,000 people died in Jammu and Kashmir, including thousands of soldiers, till martyrdom occurred, none of you spoke. You were part of that government for 10 years. Our army brothers kept asking for bullet proof jackets, you could not buy them for 10 years, perhaps they were looking for commission. This is the government of Narendra Modi ji which has done the work of giving more than Rs 2 lakh bullet proof jackets which are Make in India.
He said that not only this, it is said here that it is pending in the Supreme Court. I want to say, what is the commitment? Can’t we pass laws here and work to give rights to those to whom you have not given rights? Also got them their rights. In the end, I would only say that if you read the papers of the last few years about the families you are talking about today, some big families belonging to political families were given land. After our government came to power, it is government land. Now it was given back to the government but the rights of the poor were not taken away.

Anurag Thakur said that he remembered his Sushma ji and Arun Jaitley ji. I will just say this much, when this work of removing Article 370-35A was done, I still remember Sushma ji had congratulated both the Prime Minister and Amit Bhai, she was so eager and talked on the phone, I am a witness to AIIMS hospital too. After that he also said in his last moments that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had said in his youth when he resigned from his ministerial post that two constitutions, two legislations, two heads cannot run in one country, today our government under Modi Work was done to complete it under the leadership of ji.
I would only say that the same Sushma ji, Arun Jaitley ji, these leaders of opposition in Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and the tricolor flag used to talk about hoisting the flag at Lal Chowk on 26th January and whose government was there at that time. We were put in jail. The only crime was that there was talk of hoisting the flag in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier there used to be stone pelting, people were killed, today no stone pelting is happening after the removal of Section 370 and 35 (A). Let me tell you the incident of 2011. There was a National Conference government, we were not allowed to hoist the tricolor flag. Two opposition leaders of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were put in jail. Today, even at Lal Chowk, the tricolor flag is hoisted in every street of Kashmir.
