Mumbai, 15th April. Milind Deora, Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader, extended a warm welcome to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election manifesto, praising its commitment to building three crore additional houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Deora emphasized the particular importance of this initiative for Mumbai, expressing optimism about its potential impact on fulfilling the housing dreams of Mumbaikars.
“The manifesto of the BJP is very good. What they say, they deliver. I welcome it,” remarked Deora, who recently transitioned to Shiv Sena from the Congress, in a statement to news agency ANI.
He further highlighted the achievements under the PMAY, which has already provided permanent houses to four crore families, and commended the BJP’s plan to extend this initiative to three crore more families over the next five years.
“The BJP’s commitment to providing permanent houses to millions aligns with the aspirations of Mumbaikars. I eagerly anticipate the implementation of this plan in Mumbai and Maharashtra,” Deora added.
The BJP’s election manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra,’ was unveiled at the party’s New Delhi headquarters in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president JP Nadda, and other senior leaders. With the tagline “Modi ki Guarantee,” the manifesto outlines a comprehensive vision for development, women’s welfare, and the transformation of India into a developed nation.
Key promises in the manifesto include declaring the year 2025 as the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Year,’ advocating for ‘One Nation One Election,’ and striving towards a ‘global manufacturing hub’ status for India. Additionally, initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana to make electricity bills zero and India’s bid for the Olympics in 2036 were highlighted.
JP Nadda, addressing the manifesto launch event, attributed the party’s achievements over the last decade, including the abrogation of Article 370 and the enactment of the women’s reservation law, to the resounding mandate received from the people.
The BJP’s manifesto committee, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, meticulously crafted the document after extensive deliberations and soliciting suggestions from the public, including over 1.5 million inputs received through various channels.
As India gears up for the Lok Sabha polls scheduled from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, political parties are intensifying their campaigns, aiming to address the diverse needs and aspirations of the electorate across the country.
