New Delhi, 13th May. The Election Commission has postponed the biennial elections for the Legislative Councils in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The EC has said, ‘The EC reviewed the matter and decided that due to the second wave of COVID-19, it would not be right to hold biennial elections for the Legislative Councils of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana until the situation improves.
According to the statement issued by the Election Commission, the tenure of three members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and 6 members of the Telangana Legislative Council is coming to an end on 31 May 2021 and 3 June 2021 respectively.
