Gandhinagar, 28th Feb. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, marked a momentous occasion on Tuesday as he inaugurated the ‘Swaminarayan Institute of Medical Science and Research’ in Kalol, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, along with numerous dignitaries.
In his address, Amit Shah commended the Swaminarayan sect for its profound contributions, emphasizing Lord Swaminarayan’s pivotal role in shaping Gujarat’s ethos. He hailed the sect’s efforts in freeing millions from addiction, fostering values of devotion, and establishing educational institutions like Gurukuls across Gujarat since the 1960s.
Highlighting the significance of education, Shah underscored the Swaminarayan Gurukul’s role in providing education to marginalized communities, emphasizing the importance of literacy in transforming lives. He lauded the institute’s commitment to serving humanity, epitomizing the essence of ‘Daridra Narayan.’
Shah revealed that 100 students have enrolled in the newly inaugurated medical college, with plans to introduce MD and MS post-graduate courses in the near future. He applauded the modern hospital’s facilities and its commitment to providing free services, echoing the ethos of service exemplified by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Reflecting on the strides in healthcare infrastructure under Prime Minister Modi’s tenure, Shah highlighted the significant increase in medical colleges, MBBS and post-graduate seats, and the establishment of institutions of national importance. He praised the government’s efforts to promote education and entrepreneurship, empowering Indian youth on both national and global platforms.
Furthermore, Amit Shah hailed Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives in preserving cultural heritage, exemplified by the construction of the Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, and revitalization of sacred sites like Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering national pride and promoting indigenous languages and culture on the global stage.
In conclusion, Shah expressed confidence in India’s future, envisioning a nation that leads the world across all spheres as it approaches its centenary of independence.
