Governor Jagdeep Dhankar reached Nandigram on Saturday to meet the families of the victims of the post poll violence in West Bengal. He interacted and heard all the details regarding the violence from the villagers. People of the village told all that happened there during post poll violence.

Dhankar said it is very disheartening and tragic to witness such a situation when the whole country is trying to cope up and overcome the corona crisis, here in West Bengal we are dealing with two such big problems. On one hand we are dealing with the corona crisis, on the other hand such incidents of merciless violence happened in the state. He said, this is a very bad situation and a very serious challenge to overcome. People are forced to leave their families during this crisis and are taking shelter in the camps. Families have been unjustly victimized by anti-social elements. Women are not safe which is just shameful.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankar hopes and expects that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will pay serious attention to this problem and take steps towards rehabilitation, compensation and peacemaking to all the victims and also take strict action against the accused.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has objected to the Governor’s visit. Mamta Banerjee said that this visit of the Governor is completely unconstitutional.
