Four Persons Sentenced to Life Imprisonment by District Judge in Pithoragarh

Pithoragarh, 13th July. The district and session judge Pithoragarh Gyanendra Sharma sentenced  life imprisonment to four persons  with  an additional  fine of Rs 25000 each. They were convicted of selling  and purchasing  of a minor for a sum of Rs  20000, in the year  2015. Source said.

The judgement was delivered under section 363, 366,367 368 370(4) 372,372,373/34 of IPC and  section of anti trafficking act.” said the source.
“The convicts  include mother and aunty of the victim and two persons from Bareilly who were involve in the deal.” said Prem Bhandari, public prosecutor, who pleaded the case from government side.

According to Bhandari, the incident took place in the year 2015, when anti -human trafficking  cell of Pithoragarh police arrested five persons from Ghupaur locality of Pithoragarh  district for selling a minor girl from Dharchula to one Akram from Bareilly. “While the mother and Aunt of girl were part of crime from one side Jamil Ahmed and Taslim Khan were accomplice with Akram who died  in the year  2016″. The punishment  was delivered to four remaining convicts.” said the public prosecutor.

According to the public prosecutor, the prosecution  presented  10 witnesses in their favor on that basis the judgement was delivered.
