Fight against Corona: Production of 1000 MT of Oxygen per day by Reliance Industries to Supply in Various States

New Delhi, 1st May. After Tata, Adani’s help to overcome oxygen shortage now Reliance industries have also come forward in the fight against Corona. Reliance Industries Limited has accelerated the supply of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) in various states from its Jamnagar refinery.

The Jamnagar oil refinery is producing more than 1000 MT of medical-grade oxygen every day. This oxygen is being given free of cost to the states which are worst affected by Covid-19. Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industry Limited, is himself supervising the entire matter. Mukesh Ambani is keeping an eye on the refinery from producing oxygen to its loading and supply.

Reliance Industries Limited has increased production of LMO by 1000 metric tons through Jamnagar Refinery. 1000 MT of oxygen has the capacity to meet the needs of more than 1 lakh people. Reliance today alone produces about 11% of India’s medical grade oxygen and 1 out of every 10 patients is being given oxygen. Recently, the production of LMO by RIL was 700 MT.

Reliance has increased the production of medical grade oxygen from zero to 1000 MT. Since the onset of the epidemic, Reliance Industries has supplied 55,000 metric tons of medical grade oxygen free of cost.

To overcome the problem of transporting oxygen for the country, Reliance has also airlifted 24 tankers from abroad. It has airlifted tankers from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
