Fight Against Corona: Central government’s big help amid Corona crisis, 8,873 crores released to states as first installment

New Delhi, 1st May. Amid Corona crisis in the country, the Indian government has released the first installment of the central portion of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) to provide relief to the states. As the first installment, the central government has released 8873.6 crore rupees for all states.
The Union Finance Ministry has given this information. It was stated by the Finance Ministry that the first installment has been released to provide support to the states from the SDRF for the year 2021-22. The ministry said that the state can use 50 per cent of the released amount i.e. Rs 4436.8 crore for the prevention of Covid-19.
As a special dispensation, Dept of Expenditure, Finance Ministry at MHA's recommendation has released in advance of the normal schedule the 1st instalment of the Central Share of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF)for 2021-22 to all States. Rs 8873.6 cr released: Finance Ministry
