Fight against Corona: 1764 Oxygen Concentrators Arrived as Foreign Aid

New Delhi, 6th May. The Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday that medical equipment and medicines received as foreign relief till May 4 have been distributed to 38 medical institutes in 31 states and union territories to fight the Coronavirus.

These include 1764 oxygen concentrators, 7 oxygen generation plants, 1760 oxygen cylinders, 450 ventilators, 1.35 lakh Remdesivir vaccines and other medicines.

The Government of India has allocated all these to states and union territories.

The Health Ministry said that all the medical essentials received by May 4 have been allocated to states and institutions and a large part of it has also been distributed. This work is going on continuously. The largest aid was received on May 4, which included 1274 oxygen concentrators, 101 ventilators, 587 oxygen cylinders, 2 oxygen generation plants, 33 medical cabinets and 1,53,708 Remdesivir vaccines.

India started receiving medical equipment and other supplies from different countries from 27 April. The countries sending relief include Britain, Ireland, Romania, Russia, UAE, US, Taiwan, Kuwait, France, Thailand, Germany, Uzbekistan, Belgium and Italy.
