Fierce Firing in Chitrakoot Jail, Mohammad Meraj of Varanasi and Gangster Mukim Kala Died

Chitrakoot, 14^th May. Mohammad Merajuddin (Meraj), a close aide of Mukhtar Ansari, and Gangster Mukim Kala of western Uttar Pradesh were shot and killed on Friday in Chitrakoot jail by detained prisoner Anshu Dixit. Anshu Dixit has also died in retaliation by the jail personnel. Anshu Dixit was lodged in Chitrakoot Jail in December 2019.

According to the information, Anshu Dixit son who has been shifted from District Jail Sultanpur on administrative basis to Chitrakoot, is detained in Chitrakoot. He killed Captive Mukim Kala, who came from Saharanpur on administrative grounds and Meraj Ali who came from Banaras District Jail on administrative basis and captured five other prisoners at around 10 am today. Chitrakoot DM and SP tried to control the detainees by reaching out, but he continued to threaten to kill five other detainees as well. Anshu Dixit was killed in the firing by the police with no alternative.
