Divine light trust to distribute 3000 pieces of N 95 masks to the frontline workers from various departments

Dehradun, May 10. To assist in controlling the spread of Covid-19 infection, the Divine Light trust headed by Dr. Sunil Sanon, an eminent medical activist and chairman of the trust has purchased around 4000 pieces of N 95 high-quality masks that will be distributed to the front-line workers from various government and non-governmental departments in Mussoorie.
Dr. Sunil Sanon had requested a letter from Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Mussoorie Manish Kumar expressing the desire of the trust to distribute these masks to the select groups of people consisting of Linemen from the Uttarakhand state electricity board, all Nigam/Sansthan, postmen deployed in various beats, ASHA workers, the staff at vaccinating units of Mussoorie, daily wagers, workers in small hamlets and dwellings, Labourer’s from Nepal, guards working round the clock at the ATM centres and the bank clients who come at the ATM centres with worn-out masks in Mussoorie.

To assist in controlling the spread of Covid-19 infection, the Divine Light trust headed by Dr. Sunil Sanon, an eminent medical activist and chairman of the trust has purchased around 4000 pieces of N 95 high-quality masks that will be distributed to the front-line workers from various government and non-governmental departments in Mussoorie.Dr. Sunil Sanon said that these workers from various departments are in continuous contact with the people due to the type of work on a daily basis and face exposure to the risk of Covid-19 pandemic, hence it becomes imperative to safeguard them from the infection and control the spread of the disease.

Dr. Sanon said that his wife Dr. Venu Sanon founder member of the trust and director Chetna E-Learning and Swami Vivekananda Education promotion Programme had aired the concern towards these workers who are performing their duties without any limelight on daily basis. Subsequently, both decided to equip them with high-quality masks to deal with the Covid-19 disease.

“The ASHA workers are at the front-line and greater risk of contracting the disease due to their regular interaction with the people hence it becomes our duty to provide them with masks for their safety,” said Dr Sanon.

The Divine Light Trust, through volunteers, has already distributed 1000 masks to the neighbourhood below the NauManzil temple neighbourhood above Nirankari Bhawan, Ganesh Hotel in Landour Bazaar, Nepali Dera at Kingcraig, Bansagaad village, Barlowgunj, upper vicinity of Pundit ji residence, Yes Bank ATM, Library and remaining masks will be distributed through the local administration.

Dr. Sanon requested SDM Mussoorie to send a representative to pick up the bale of 3000 N- 95 masks from the office of the trust so that it can be delivered to the people contributing in their own way amid the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Mussoorie. The SDM was eager to take up the responsibility of distributing the masks said Dr Sanon.

Dr. Sanon also said that last year while in the United States, we managed to share 1000 made in India Kawach masks for the Uttarakhand Policemen deputed at the Border Check posts and could do it again in the near future if required.
The SDM Mussoorie Manish Kumar said that he has received the masks and will be distributed as discussed with the Divine Light Trust officials, soon.
