Decline in Daily Corona Cases Due to Lockdown Like Restrictions in Many States: Health Ministry

New Delhi, 11th May. Addressing the media on Tuesday, the Health Ministry said that cases in 18 states of the country have started to reduce due to lockdown-like restrictions. However, there is a continuous increase in corona cases in 16 states which is a matter of concern.

The Health Ministry said that while there is a continuous decrease in daily new cases of corona in Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Telangana, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Gujarat. On the other hand, new cases are increasing daily in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Orissa, Punjab, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

The Health Ministry said that there are 13 states in the country where there are more than 1 lakh active cases. The number of active cases remains between 50,000 to 1 lakh in 6 states. There are 17 states where there are less than 50,000 active cases.
