Covid 19 Vaccination Stopped in Gujarat for Three Days for above 45years

Ahmadabad, 14th May. Covid19 Vaccination has been stopped in Gujarat for three days for over 45years. The Gujarat government said that this step to stop vaccination has been taken after the central government’s decision to increase the interval between two doses of Covishield. A state government release said that vaccination will continue for people aged 18 to 44 who have registered themselves and who have received SMS.

After a review of the vaccination program following the Centre’s decision, people over the age of 45 will not be vaccinated on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the release said. It added that vaccination for the group would begin on 17 May.

According to the latest data, around 1.47 crore people have been vaccinated in the state till now. Of these, 1.09 crore people have been given the first dose of vaccine and 37.89 lakh people have been given the second dose of vaccine.

A day before, following the recommendation of the government committee, the Center on Thursday approved to increase the interval between two doses of the Covishield vaccine from six to eight weeks to 12 to 16 weeks.
