Rampur, 9th August.
A court in Rampur on Thursday directed the consolidation of a dozen cases against Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan into a single case. The order came following a plea from Khan’s lawyer, Advocate Zubair Ahmed Khan.

According to Ahmed, the cases, which were being heard in the MP-MLA court under Sessions Judge Vijay Kumar, pertain to issues dating back to 2019. They include allegations of encroachment on waqf property, theft of cattle and other belongings, and the forced eviction of individuals residing on the property.

The local police have submitted charge sheets in all these cases.

In total, more than 90 cases were filed against Khan in 2019 and 2020. Currently, at least 40 of these cases remain under judicial consideration.

Azam Khan was convicted last year for a case involving a fake birth certificate and is currently serving his sentence at Sitapur jail.
