Chhattisgarh government to provide Rs 5 lakh assistance to dependents of  media persons who have lost their lives due to Covid infection

The state will also reimburse the expenditure incurred in the treatment of media persons suffering from Covid.

Raipur,  31th May. Chhattisgarh government will provide financial assistance of Rs  5 lakh to the dependent family members of media persons who have passed away due to Covid infection.

The assistance will be provided under the media Representative Welfare Assistance Rules. In addition, the state government will also reimburse the expenditure incurred in the treatment of media persons who have been admitted to the hospital for treatment in case of covid. The family members of the covid affected media representatives are being collected by the Directorate of Public Relations.

The dependent family members of the deceased media persons due to Covid or the media persons undergoing treatment can submit their application form in the prescribed form along with the records to the concerned District Public Relations Office.

A meeting of the Journalists Welfare Fund Committee is being convened soon to provide financial assistance to media persons. In his Budget Speech 2021-22, long before other States, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced an increase in the amount of financial assistance under the Media Representative Welfare Assistance Rules from Rs.

As announced by the Chief Minister, Shri Baghel, necessary reforms have been made by the Department of Public Relations and sent for publication in the Gazette.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s announcement has been initiated to implement financial assistance.
