A 10 year old boy killed by leopard in Latrari village in Pithoragarh district

Pithoragarh,21st July . A 10 years old boy was killed by leopard in Latrari village of Gangolihat sub division of Pithoragarh today at 6 pm. Forest department sources said.
The village is some 100 km from district headquarter and 25 km from Gangolihat sub divisional headquarter. “Gokul, (10) was suddenly attacked from back by leopard when he was returning with along with his sister from a nearby shop after purchasing goods, when the incident happened,“ said Vinay Bhargava, DFO Pithoragarh.
According to DFO when the sister of Gokul cried, the leopard fled leaving the boy. He was declared dead by doctors in the hospital,“said the DFO. The villagers have said that it is 10th incident of leopard attack on villagers.” we feel totally insecure from wild animals as the forest officials have not paid any heed to our complaints earlier.” said Arjun Ram, a villager.
