22-year-old women killed for dowry: Two including the husband and Mother in law held by Police

Pithoragarh, 9th June. Two accused, including the husband and mother in law of deceased, were arrested by Lohaghat police after the dead body of a newly married 22 years old woman was found in her room two days ago.
According to the Police Kiran Devi, (22), of Dinhwal village of Kheti Khan area, was married to Jodia from the village of Rajkot Mahar area of Champawat district, some three months ago, her dead body was recovered from her room on Tuesday.
“The postmortem report of the body confirmed the death due to strangulation, the culprits have been arrested on the basis of FIR lodged by the father of deceased, who had lodged the report saying his daughter was killed for dowry,” said AK Singh the police officer investigating the case.
The people of the Pati subdivision of the district today took out a candle march in the market, demanding arrest of all culprits and give punishment for the death of the girl. ” Dowry is the reason behind the barbaric killing, the culprits are punished for murder,”said Sita Devi, a woman who led the march.
